Over 40 years ago, St. Mark's United Methodist Church was built on Lincoln Road in an area that was destined to grow. And, that it has done. Although the community around St. Mark's has changed substantially, the church itself has not. It is evident from the stack of architectural plans that many times discussions have taken place and people have desired to make changes, but very little has been done since the 70's. We are in a prime location situated on beautiful Bayou DeSiard, which cannot even be seen. We have thousands of cars passing our church daily, but our place of worship goes virtually unnoticed. We have opened our doors to reach out to the community, but now it is the time to make sure we have space available to offer ministires to those who are responding. Our congregation is a giving congregation and has always responded when there is a need. It is now time to consider what we can offer to prepare ourselves for the ministries before us.
